The Vineyard
This 80-year old organic vineyard belonging to the Villalobos Family has been kept in its wild state, without any pruning or irrigation. The vineyard’s distinguishing feature is its untouched wilderness where for over 40 years Carignan vines have grown alongside native vegetation.
The vineyard is quite biodiverse hosting a wide variety of native species of Chilean flora and fauna such as culen, maiten, quillay and hawthorn trees, sweet briar, among others. These unique surroundings are essential to keeping the vines pest- and disease-free.
Our vines grow freely climbing nearby trees for support. In fact, some vines grow so high that they tower six meters above the trees.
The vineyard is located a mere 30 km from the Pacific coast at 100 meters above sea level, nestled in a valley marked by a warm, temperate climate where the dry season lasts six to eight months out of the year. Daily temperature differences can be up to 20 degrees, especially in the summer months when they can range from 30° C to 10° C.
